Found throughout mexico in subterranean caves.

What is the ideal number to keep together?
Try and keep in groups of at least 4.

What water conditions do they require?
Will happily accept a wide range of water conditions with pH 6.0 - 8.0 and temperatures ranging from 20 - 28 degrees celcius.

What should you feed them?
Will readily accept all foods.

How compatible are they with other fish?
Very peaceful community species, fin nipping may occur during feeding. However this is due to the nature of how the fish determines the location of food rather than displaying aggression.

Can they be bred in captivity?
With some research to replicate their natural environments breeding can be achieved without too much difficulty.
