If you are looking to replace or update your filter media, why not try our range of ceramic balls and rings for your pond?
Pond ceramic media is made of porous material; providing a large air surface to help develop the nitro-bacteria in your filter, and also help reduce ammonia levels.
Choosing the right amount of ceramic media makes a real difference to water quality, so match the volume of rings or balls to your filter chamber size and overall pond volume rather than simply topping up the existing media bed – too little and beneficial bacteria have nowhere to establish, too much and flow can be restricted. Many keepers combine coarse rings in the first chamber to trap debris with smaller balls further along for finer biological filtration, giving both mechanical and biological stages in one system. Rinse media gently in pond water (never tap water) during routine maintenance to avoid killing off the bacterial colony you've worked to build. Fresh media is especially worth adding when setting up a new pond filter or refreshing one that's lost its punch after a few seasons.
