Koi Food Pellets & Flakes

Choosing the right food often comes down to matching pellet size and type to the season and the size of your koi. Floating pellets are ideal in warmer months, letting you watch your fish feed at the surface and making it easy to judge how much they're actually eating, while sinking or wheatgerm-based formulas are gentler on digestion during cooler weather when koi are less active. Smaller koi and younger fish generally do better with smaller pellets or flakes that are easier to take in, while larger, established koi can manage bigger floating pellets. Feeding a properly balanced diet throughout the year supports strong colour, healthy growth and good immune function, so it's worth keeping a couple of pellet sizes on hand as the seasons change.
