How easy are they to care for?
Green Neon Tetras are peaceful and easy to care for when given the correct environment. They enjoy rooted and floating plants and do not like strong lights. 

How large can they grow? Up to 3cm

Where in the world are they from?
Upper Negro River basin, Brazil and the Orinoco River basin in Colombia & Venezuela.

What is the ideal number to keep together?
They are comfortable in groups of 6 or more.

What water conditions do they require?
Water conditions of 24 – 27 °C and 5.5-6.5 pH is required

What should you feed them?
Flake, micropellets, small frozen foods such as daphnia, baby brine shrimp and cyclops are suitable.

How compatible are they with other fish?
They can live in a community tank with other small, peaceful fish such as Guppies, Mollies, other Tetras, Platies & Rasboras.

Can they be bred in captivity?
Green Neon Tetras are difficult to breed in captivity and are best bred when kept in large groups. The water must be very soft and acidic with plenty of Java moss or spawning mops to collect the eggs. Adult fish should be removed once spawning has ended to prevent eggs being eaten. The aquarium should be kept in darkness as the eggs are very light sensitive.
