We would class these as an easy level of care.

Where in the world are they from?
Found in southern guinea and sierra leone.

What is the ideal number to keep together?
Ideally kept in groups of 8-10 or more to try reduce shy tendencies.

What water conditions do they require?
Clean mature tanks are best suited with soft water pH ranging from 4.0 to 7.0. Temperatures ranging from 20 to 26 degrees.

What should you feed them?
Micropredators by nature, but will happily grow to accept crushed flakes and small foods such as cyclops, brineshrimp etc.

How compatible are they with other fish?
Great care should be taken when choosing tank mates due to their small size. Even large tetra can be too boisterous.

Can they be bred in captivity?
Relatively easy to breed in a heavily planted aquarium and in a species only aquarium it is not unheard of for fry to start appearing with no external intervention.
