The White Top Cichlid is an aggressive and territorial fish. They should be kept in a species-only or mixed mbuna¬†tank. It is best to keep one male with several females.

This species is easy to breed. Males are ready to breed at 8 - 10 months.¬† Eggs hatch after 14 ‚Äì 21 days, then fry can eat powdered dry food and brine shrimps.¬†
