What is Brackish water?
Brackish waters are located on where river systems meet the sea, this creates a habitat with some unique and wonderful creatures. A subsequent cause of this is that any of these species kept within the private aquarium require more specific water conditions, culminating in the addition of a small amount of marine salts to recreate their natural surroundings. At All Pond Solutions we keep all brackish fish in an environment of 1.005 SG (see below). Brackish species cannot be kept with the general community fish such as Tetras, Rainbows, Catfish and Gourami. For more information please read our introductory blog on Brackish species.
