Pond Filters for Gardens

Getting the size right matters more than any other buying decision here: a filter rated below your pond's actual volume will struggle to keep water clear, while oversizing simply wastes running costs, so check your litres before choosing and use our Pond Filter Size Recommender to work out what you need if you're unsure. Look for units combining mechanical media (foam or brushes to trap debris) with biological media (like bio-balls or ceramic rings) that host the bacteria which break down fish waste. Position your filter where it's easy to access, as opening it up for a rinse every few weeks keeps everything running efficiently. Once set up correctly, a good filter runs quietly in the background, rewarding you with clearer water and healthier fish all season long.
