About the CUP-359 Annual Service Kit
A full year of service parts for the CUP-359, in one delivery. An all-in-one unit has four consumables on the same yearly cycle - the UV lamp, the quartz sleeve it sits in, the seals that keep it watertight, and the filter foams. Bought separately they arrive as four orders in four parcels.

Important — do not change all your foam on the same day
The foam in your filter holds the bacteria colony that keeps your pond safe. It takes weeks to establish and minutes to throw away. Replace it all in one go and your pond effectively starts from scratch — ammonia and nitrite climb, and your fish are the ones that suffer.
- Swap no more than half the foam at a time
- Leave 2 to 4 weeks between changes so the new foam can colonise
- Rinse the foam you are keeping in pond water only — chlorine from the tap kills bacteria on contact

When to replace the lamp
A UV bulb stops working long before it stops glowing. The visible light remains while the invisible UV-C output fades, so a lamp that still lights up can be doing nothing for your water. Replace it every 12 months for clarification duty, or every 6 months if you are running it for sterilisation.

Fitting. Isolate the power supply before opening the unit. Lightly lubricate the O-rings with a silicone-based lubricant on reassembly to keep the seal watertight.
