Our 11w PLS UV bulb is a direct replacement lamp for pond and aquarium UV sterilisers, clarifiers and UV-equipped filters. It fits all major manufacturers' units - measure your existing bulb end to end and check it against the figure above before ordering.

When to replace it

A UV bulb stops working long before it stops glowing. The visible light remains while the invisible UV-C output fades, so a lamp that still lights up can be doing nothing for your water.

• Sterilisation: replace every 6 months (approximately 4,000 hours)
• Pond or aquarium clarification: replace every 12 months (approximately 8,000 hours)

Clean the quartz sleeve whenever you change the lamp - limescale and biofilm on the sleeve block UV-C just as effectively as a dead bulb does. See our UV Steriliser Maintenance Guide.

Easy to install. The lamp pushes into its holder and the quartz sleeve reassembles as it came apart. Always isolate the power supply before opening a UV unit.
