How easy are they to care for?
Moderate – shoaling species that need a large well established tank, of at least 350 litres with good water flow. Females are bright orange in colour with the males being a dark purple and displaying a high dorsal fin.

West Indian Ocean

What is the ideal number to keep together?
In groups of 3+. It is best to start with an all-female harem; the most dominant will develop into a male.

What water conditions do they require?
SG: 1.020-1.025, pH: 8.1-8.4
23-27 deg C (73-81 deg F)

What should you feed them?
A good mix of mysis, brine, copepods krill and fish/lobster eggs. Dried foods can be offered and will be accepted in time.

How compatible are they with other fish?
Widely compatible with other reef safe fish. Can become territorial so need plenty of space. Should not be kept with other Anthias, predatory fish and caution taken with Basslets.

Can they be bred in captivity? 
Not likely to breed in captivity
