How easy are they to care for?

A generally hardy species, that will accept a range of tank mates.

How large can they grow?

Bristlenose plecos grow to be around 10-12.5 cm.

Where in the world are they from?

While the origin of this species is largely uncertain, it is known that A. cirrhosus is native to the Argentinian portion of the ParanÔøΩ River drainage.

What is the ideal number to keep together?

Can be kept by themselves or in groups if the aquarium is large enough.

What water conditions do they require?

Water temperature should range from 21 – 26°C with a pH range of 5.5 - 7.5.

What should you feed them?

Should be offered a varied diet consisting of dried sinking pellets and frozen food – plus additional fresh fruit and parboiled potato.

How compatible are they with other fish?

Largely compatible with all species. They have a relatively peaceful nature but become territorial with similarly-shaped species.
