Marine LED Lighting
LED aquarium lighting has now become a viable replacement for metal halide and T5 aquarium lighting - soft and hard corals are able to thrive under high output LED's. Due to the vast improvements being made in LED aquarium lights they are now just as suitable for coral as halides but with out the negatives that come with running a high energy consumption halide system.LED lighting can be as much as 60% more energy efficient than traditional halide systems and in some cases even more energy efficient. On top of this halide bulbs need changing usually at the very least every two years where as LED's last up to 50000 hours - over 5 years and thats if they was continuously in use.
